Job Title: Academic Support Specialist

The Academic Support Specialist is a key figure in the student experience, providing guidance and support to help students navigate their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to student inquiries via the learning management system and support software, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards the student's needs.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to effectively guide students through complex assignments and questions, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
  • Provide timely feedback that includes insightful questions to help students develop problem-solving skills and achieve correct answers.
  • Suggest improvements to course content by collaborating with Program Delivery Managers and Designers, ensuring that materials are presented clearly, accurately, and effectively.
  • Communicate regularly with the team to enhance course delivery and resolve any unexpected challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics.
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript and Python, as well as experience with GitHub.
  • Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure.
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain a comfortable working relationship with diverse students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using communication tools like Slack and Teams.
  • Experience working with support/service software or ticketing systems.
  • Experience using bug tracking and feedback tools.
