Job Title: Operations Director

The Chief Operating Officer will lead multi-disciplinary teams to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The role is responsible for leadership and people management, operational expertise, financial and cost management, problem-solving and decision making, compliance and safety focus.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing production planning strategies to meet throughput targets
  • Sustaining and improving steelmaking processes (melting, casting, rolling)
  • Ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, machine uptime optimisation and controlling cost of maintenance
  • Driving quality initiatives to meet and exceed quality targets
  • Managing budgets, costs, and working capital to ensure business growth and sustainability
  • Monitoring and Improving KPIs like scrap yield, profitability, productivity ratios, and overall plant financial performance
  • Analyzing data to troubleshoot technical issues and identify areas for process improvements
  • Reducing operational disruptions by resolving quality issues and implementing corrective actions
  • Implementing process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction
  • Maintaining compliance with Pollution norms, Factory Acts, Labor Laws and ESG standards

Requirements:
  • Minimum 15-20 years in the steel manufacturing industry, with a focus on scrap-based operations
  • Hands-on experience with induction furnaces, continuous casting machines, and rolling mills for TMT steel production
  • Proven track record in managing metal recycling, scrap procurement, and processing (including vendor networks, quality control of raw materials, and optimizing yield in ferrous scrap-based melting processes)
  • Experience of overseeing large-scale plant operations, including utilities, maintenance, and achieving high-volume production targets
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive business growth and improvement through strategic decision-making
