System Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced System Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Tandem systems, Linux, and Windows, as well as a solid understanding of database technologies including SQL, Sybase, Oracle, and others.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Level 2/Level 3 support for applications and systems running on Tandem, Linux, and Windows platforms. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting issues across multiple database environments, performing routine maintenance patching and upgrades, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and implement fixes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to end-users and other stakeholders regarding system performance and functionality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system configuration, software updates, and network connectivity
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and documentation to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available for future reference
  • Maintain system health dashboards and automate routine checks where possible
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with Tandem HP NonStop systems
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience with Sybase, Oracle, and other relational databases
  • Experience in production support, incident management, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools e.g. ServiceNow, Jira
