Role Summary

The accessibility specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all digital products meet the required accessibility standards. This includes auditing, testing, and remediation of documents, websites, and mobile apps to ensure compliance with ADA, WCAG, and Section 508 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit: Conduct automated and manual audits to identify accessibility issues in websites, portals, LMS, documents, and multimedia content.
  • Test: Perform real-user accessibility testing using screen readers and keyboard-only navigation to ensure that digital products are accessible to users with disabilities.
  • Remediate: Provide clear and prioritized fixes and hands-on remediation support to developers to ensure that digital products meet accessibility standards.
  • Guide Developers: Advise developers on accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Prepare Accessibility Reports: Prepare VPATs/ACRs and client-facing accessibility conformance documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Advise Clients: Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, and emerging US/state accessibility laws to ensure compliance.
  • Support Compliance Programs: Support quarterly monitoring and ongoing compliance programs to ensure continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508, and emerging US/state accessibility laws.
