Senior Underwriter Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Underwriter. This dynamic and fast-paced environment offers the opportunity to work on challenging mortgage underwriting cases with complete end-to-end case ownership.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate borrower profiles using the 4 Cs of Credit – Character, Capacity, Capital, and Collateral.
  • Conduct detailed credit report reviews for accurate risk assessment.
  • Work on both UK Mortgage and US Mortgage underwriting, including income calculation, debt-to-income ratio assessment, loan-to-value ratio evaluation, asset calculation, and PITI review.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing and decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.5 years of underwriting experience (Live / End-to-End).
  • Experience in the UK Mortgage process or the US Mortgage underwriting – both will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of credit report review, DTI, LTV, PITI, income & asset calculations.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with high accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
