Tax Manager US Financial Services

Job Description:

This is a high-profile role that involves leading a team of tax professionals to ensure compliance with all tax regulations in the United States. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services taxation and a strong track record of managing teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing complex financial services client returns, identifying international filing requirements, and training staff on new concepts and technologies. They will also supervise kick-off calls, intervene in budget conflicts, and recruit, train, and evaluate team members.

In addition, they will facilitate trainings, help develop training materials, and enable the team towards achieving organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review of complex financial services client returns, including hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds blocker corporation returns and S-Corporation returns prepared by staff/senior/Supervisor.
  • Review of state returns for financial services clients.
  • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart study and review of international tax returns.
  • Train existing/new joiners on concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback for each project reviewed.
  • Supervise kick-off calls to understand the client, regular connects with US counterparts by teams, and intervene in budget conflicts, resource scheduling conflicts, etc.
  • Guide staff/senior on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes, e-filing validations.
  • Recruitments, training, performance evaluation, mentoring team members.
  • Constant connects with US counterparts to ensure adherence to timelines, high-quality work through consistent learning.
  • Enable the team towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Facilitate trainings and help in developing training materials for technical topics.
