Job Description

A tax specialist is required to advise clients on tax matters and prepare submissions. The role involves meeting with tax authorities, preparing responses to notices and audits, and filing tax appeals.

  • Provide tax advice to clients and prepare submissions for notices and appeals.
  • Meet with tax authorities to discuss client cases.
  • Prepare responses to audit notices and file tax appeals at the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) level.
  • Support senior colleagues in representing clients before judicial forums.
  • Conduct research on various tax topics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on tax compliance and strategy.
  • Prepare submissions for tax audits and investigations.
  • Meet with tax officers to discuss client cases.
  • File tax appeals and represent clients in judicial forums.
  • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations.

Client Service Delivery:

  • Identify technical issues with clients and provide solutions.
  • Develop a rapport with middle-tier client managers.
  • Execute work on multiple client bases.

Commercial Acumen:

  • Stay informed about business developments and competitor trends.
  • Apply knowledge to deliver solutions to clients.

Networking and Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify new opportunities for existing clients.
  • Navigate internal networks to understand client issues.

Knowledge Development:

  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to firm knowledge management activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Law graduate from a reputable law school.
  • 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in indirect tax.
  • Strong analytical and researching skills.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
