VAT Associate Position

This role involves supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns, as well as assisting with VAT registration and deregistration processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in tax and be eager to expand their expertise in UAE VAT frameworks.

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for clients by gathering necessary financial data and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Support VAT registration and deregistration processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records for client VAT accounts, tracking transactions and refunds as needed.
  • Prepare VAT refund and penalty reconsideration applications, providing detailed explanations and justifications when required.
  • Review client documentation for UAE VAT compliance, identifying potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Respond to client queries under senior tax staff guidance, providing clear and concise advice and support.
  • Stay updated on UAE VAT rules and practices, attending training programs and workshops to enhance knowledge and expertise.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security standards, handling sensitive information with discretion and care.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather financial data, collaborating effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance VAT knowledge, staying current with industry developments and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with a strong understanding of tax principles and regulations.
  • Part-qualified or pursuing professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred, demonstrating commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • 1–2 years relevant experience in VAT or tax-related role, with a proven track record of success and achievement.
  • Experience working with UAE clients or UAE VAT knowledge, with a strong understanding of local market conditions and regulatory requirements.
