
System Administrator Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Analyst with hands-on experience in system administration, technical support and collaboration.
The ideal candidate will provide production support during business hours ensuring system stability, performance and timely issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for applications and systems running on multiple platforms including Tandem, Linux and Windows
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues across multiple database environments - SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle etc.
- Perform routine maintenance patching and upgrades for supported systems
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents and implement fixes
- Ensure timely communication and documentation of issue resolutions and root cause analysis
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident management aligned with the Toronto time zone
- Maintain system health dashboards and automate routine checks where possible
Required Skills Experience
- Strong experience with Tandem HP NonStop systems
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience with Sybase Oracle and other relational databases
- Experience in production support incident management and performance tuning
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools e.g. ServiceNow Jira
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently during off-hours
