Senior Operations Manager

This is a senior leadership role that oversees the overall operations of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring smooth project execution and meeting financial and time parameters.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Project Execution and Management:
  • Oversee the planning, directing, and coordinating activities to meet project goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and plant layout.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of the project within defined financial and time parameters.
  • Lead vendor evaluations and manage contract/work order finalization.
  • Plant Operations and Maintenance:
  • Manage operation and maintenance of the plant after commissioning, ensuring maximum machine uptime and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive maintenance systems for trouble-free operations.
  • Coordinate plant activities to optimize resource utilization and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Prepare manuals and work instructions for unit operation and maintain reports for decision-making.
  • Oversee Induction Furnaces, Ladle Refining Furnace, Continuous Casting, and Rolling Mills operation.
  • Commissioning and Erection:
  • Supervise erection and commissioning of equipment including Thin Slab Caster, Radiography Units, Roll Grinding Systems, HVAC systems, and Roll Cooling Systems.
  • Coordinate and lead testing of equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Manage installation of laminar cooling systems, coil conveyors, and other related equipment.
  • Vendor Development & Material Planning:
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships for timely procurement of project/process equipment and materials.
  • Ensure timely supply of maintenance spares and consumables to avoid production delays.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to maintain optimal cost efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards in all project aspects.
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure quality compliance of all equipment and processes.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and motivate project team, ensuring continuous on-job training to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster positive team spirit, ensuring the team remains committed to achieving goals and objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day project operations and provide leadership to maintain consistent progress.
  • Budgeting, Cost Control, and Reporting:
  • Review project progress, ensuring alignment with budget and cost controls.
  • Prepare regular project status reports and presentations for management.
  • Ensure project completion within prescribed budgetary constraints.
  • Project Feasibility & Financing:
  • Contribute to feasibility report preparation for project financing.
  • Secure statutory approvals required for project progress.
  • Manage project's financial oversight, ensuring proper resource allocation and cost efficiency.
