Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability. This position is responsible for leading and executing SQL Server upgrade projects, including migration from legacy versions to SQL Server 2022, design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments, plan and implement database migrations to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services) with minimal downtime, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance, perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing, collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency, develop and maintain documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.

  • Upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Designing, configuring, and managing Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR).
  • Migrating databases to AWS (RDS, EC2, or other services).
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL Server performance.
  • Performing regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments, proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments, strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions, hands-on experience with AWS database migration, proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and demonstrate a strong passion for delivering high-quality results and ensuring the success of our customers.
