Decarbonization Pillar Leader

This leadership role is pivotal in driving the success of our Decarbonization of Demand pillar. The Global Lead will be responsible for spearheading a diverse and talented international team distributed across multiple countries, with a travel requirement of up to 30% time.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy and industrial transition issues, experience working across sectors, particularly with large buyers concerned about the environmental performance of products and services they purchase, and a proven track record managing large grants and keeping teams on track to deliver impacts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the decarbonized energy consumption team to achieve outcomes and positive change by setting clear goals, developing robust strategies, and building a coherent and highly motivated team.
  • Collaborating with country leads and research, data, and strategic communications colleagues to design approaches that ensure high-quality research and impactful communications and outreach.
  • Ensuring the pillar has robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning approaches in place and delivering timely reports to stakeholders.
  • Supervising and supporting pillar staff to foster an inspiring, challenging, and appreciative work environment.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field, at least 10 years of relevant work experience, including 5 years of direct-line management experience, prior international development project management experience, and an existing network of contacts in government, business, research institutes, NGOs on energy, climate, and development topics in developing and emerging markets.
