We are seeking an experienced Procurement Professional to join our team in a Purchasing Executive role. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about procurement and supply chain management.

About the Role

The Purchasing Executive will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. They will work closely with internal teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement supplier development programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
    • Identify potential suppliers based on technical requirements, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Conduct thorough assessments of supplier capabilities, including manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and financial stability.
    • Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Vendor Development and Improvement:
    • Collaborate with suppliers to identify areas for improvement in their processes, quality, and delivery performance.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers to enhance their capabilities and meet the company's requirements.
    • Implement supplier development programs, including training, workshops, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Cost Reduction and Optimization:
    • Analyze the cost structure of products and identify opportunities for cost reduction through value engineering, process optimization, and material sourcing.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favorable payment terms.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives throughout the supply chain, such as reducing lead times, improving inventory management, and optimizing logistics.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
    • Manage supplier performance, track key metrics, and address any performance issues proactively.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to suppliers.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration or supply chain management.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance.
