Job Title: Engineering Discipline Lead

This is a senior leadership position responsible for the technical direction and execution of rotary equipment design projects. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to a team of engineers and designers, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership & Guidance:
  • Develop and implement design standards, best practices, and guidelines for the design of rotary equipment.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise for complex rotary equipment design challenges.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure that all technical documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with client and regulatory requirements.
Design & Development of Rotary Equipment Systems:
  • Oversee the design of key rotary machinery systems including pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and motors.
  • Conduct advanced design calculations and simulations for equipment sizing, stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and system integration.
  • Drive innovative design approaches to improve the efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of rotary systems.
Project Leadership & Execution:
  • Manage the overall technical execution of rotary equipment design projects.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the design team and collaborate with other disciplines to integrate rotary equipment systems into larger projects.
  • Monitor the progress of design activities, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients regarding rotary equipment design.
  • Provide clear and concise technical presentations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all rotary equipment designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that all designs meet or exceed client expectations and internal standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in rotary equipment design and engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or discipline lead role.
  • Industry Expertise: Extensive experience with rotary equipment in industries such as oil & gas, power generation, petrochemicals, and manufacturing.
Skills & Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of design principles, performance requirements, and troubleshooting of rotary machinery systems.
  • Mechanical design software proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
