Functional specialisation: Engineering structural

Status: Contract (6 months)

Qualification: Bachelor in civil engineering degree

Experience: 8 to 12 years post Bachelor degree experience in site Inspection and supervision; knowledge of structural analysis and design

Grade: 10 / 11

We require Senior Structural Site Engineer to provide structural engineering expertise on projects in India and Middle East from site office in East Africa.

Working with a technical team providing specialised services to our clients, this is a great opportunity for a design engineer to gain additional and more senior experience interacting with renowned national and international consultants on exciting projects in India and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Associate / Director in preparing for site construction and project coordination.

Visit sites to address design related issues as and when required.

Assist and guide contractors and designers for feasible repair and retrofitting methods.

Give site backup on technical/design issues, where required.

Prepare mark ups for CAD technicians and check drawings when completed.

Coordinate with architects, building services engineers, and other project team members.

Responsible for the correctness and accuracy of own work.

Ensure that allocated works are completed within programme and allocated budget.

Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.

Attend meetings with local authorities, coordination meetings with other departments and clients as and when required.

Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management.

Requirements

Bachelor in civil engineering degree.

8 to 12 years post Bachelor degree experience in site supervision, structural analysis and design mentoring subordinates.

Extensive coordination experience in project stakeholder coordination.

Knowledge on Structural Inspection, auditing along with commercially aware on modern repair and retrofitting techniques.

Competent in the use of software packages i.e. Microsoft suite of products packages.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good communication, presentation and organisational skills.

Have a flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted.
