**Job Summary**

This role involves providing strategic leadership in the development of higher education initiatives and programs. The Assistant Director will work closely with stakeholders to identify key areas for thought leadership, policy advocacy, and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thought Leadership/Policy Advocacy: Work with Higher Education Committee leadership and members to develop thought leadership papers, reports, and articles on key issues.
  • Interface with Regulatory Bodies: Regularly engage with regulatory bodies, Ministry of Education, and other related ministries/state governments to develop FICCI inputs/recommendations.
  • Develop Strategic Partnerships: Build partnerships with university leaders, multilateral/bilateral organizations, and other stakeholders in higher education.

FICCI Higher Education Committee & Taskforces (TF):

  • Conduct Periodic Committee Meetings: Develop agendas, prepare minutes, and ensure smooth committee functioning.
  • Identify Expert Groups: Create small groups of experts/task forces to address specific sectoral issues.
  • Work with Task Forces: Develop papers, execute projects, and conduct surveys and research.
  • Membership Engagement: Mobilize new members, manage membership engagement, and activities.

Higher Education Summit (HES):

  • Organize Annual Conference: Manage the global FICCI Higher Education Summit, designing conference programs, and identifying national/international partners.
  • Masterclasses/Workshops: Coordinate masterclasses/workshops and focused closed-door interactions between industry and academic leaders.
  • Social Media Branding: Effectively execute social media branding.

Projects:

  • Project Identification/Implementation: Identify and execute projects in industry-academia engagement, reconnecting with FICCI's NKFH partners.
  • Capacity Building Programs: Organize capacity building programs for faculty and higher education leadership.
  • Joint Projects: Engage with World Bank and other global agencies, exploring joint projects.

Reports/Recommendations:

  • Government Inputs: Develop FICCI inputs/recommendations for government policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge Report: Provide information through secondary research for the annual FICCI Knowledge report.
  • Position Papers: Put together position papers/reports on identified areas.

FICCI Eduwrap:

  • Bi-Monthly Newsletter: Publish a bi-monthly sectoral newsletter with an outreach to all stakeholders.
  • News Collation: Collate relevant news items/articles for every edition.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the higher education landscape, excellent communication skills, primary and secondary research abilities, event management skills, analysis/report writing skills, project management expertise, and proficiency in MS office suite.
