Job Description

The Academic Institution Leader oversees the overall strategy, vision, and direction of a medical university. This senior executive is responsible for leading with purpose, heart, and expertise to ensure academic excellence, research innovation, and institutional growth.

This key position involves driving the continuous improvement of curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment based on learning outcomes, technological advancements, and industry needs. The leader will also be responsible for building a vibrant research culture by supporting faculty and students in scholarly activities, publishing, and securing funding.

Main responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership
  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for academic growth and development.
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to achieve academic goals.
Research and Innovation
  • Strengthening institutional frameworks and administrative systems to facilitate cutting-edge research and seamless academic operations.
  • Fostering partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare providers, research bodies, and industries.
Institutional Governance
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing the functioning of statutory bodies such as the Academic Council, Finance Committee, and Board of Management.
Student Success
  • Championing student welfare, mentoring, career readiness, and holistic development.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating campus environment.

Requirements:

  • A distinguished academician with teaching experience in a reputable institution within a private university system.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field preferably from a premier institution.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience as professor or equivalent positions held in university system or reputed research or academic administrative organizations.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Qualifications and experience in medicine or allied healthcare institutions.
  • Significant leadership experience in developing and executing a strategic vision.
  • Proven expertise in steering an institution toward top rankings and accreditations.
