Key Responsibilities

Primary Functions:

  • Conduct continuous and proactive scanning of the IoT ecosystem to identify emerging technologies, new business models, competitor moves, and untapped market whitespace opportunities.
  • Develop insightful research and synthesis reports on long-term trends, disruptions, and potential threats to our current operations.

Core Competencies:

  • Design and execute rigorous validation processes for new opportunity hypotheses, utilizing primary customer research, expert interviews, competitive analysis, and prototype testing.
  • Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess market size, potential ROI, and strategic value of new initiatives.

Initiative Incubation & Growth:

  • For validated opportunities, lead initial incubation phase. This includes defining initial product-market fit, building minimal viable products (MVPs) or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources (e.g., engineering, design, product, finance) to accelerate incubation process.

Ecosystem Engagement & Partnerships:

  • Build and leverage network of external contacts (startups, academics, industry experts, venture capitalists) to serve as innovation radar and potential partnership opportunities.

Strategic Communication:

  • Clearly and persuasively communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions.
