Job Requirements
  • Provide strategic support to shipboard leaders, ensuring seamless implementation of navigational and cargo practices.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's Safety Management System (SMS) onboard vessels.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness among vessel and shore teams.
Responsibilities
  1. Operational Support & Implementation
  • Collaborate with Masters to ensure timely implementation of SMS.
  • Support Senior Marine Superintendent in marine-related matters.
  • Conduct regular marine visits and audits to monitor vessel compliance and operational standards.
Audit & Inspection Preparedness
  • Ensure vessels are adequately prepared for third-party inspections.
  • Attend and support vessels during critical inspections.
  • Follow up on inspection observations and ensure timely closure.
Crew Management & Training
  • Conduct officer briefings, debriefings, and onboard coaching.
  • Identify training needs based on audit findings.
  • Promote awareness of charter party requirements among ship staff.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Review ship performance reports and navigational audits.
  • Ensure navigational charts and publications are up-to-date.
  • Monitor terminal satisfaction reports.
QSHE Responsibilities
  • Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA).
  • Provide operational support in maintaining compliance with ISM Code, MLC, and ISO standards.
Management System Implementation
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company Management System across shore and fleet operations.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating manuals and procedures.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
  • Support investigations of accidents and near misses.
  • Track implementation of corrective actions.
Training, Awareness & Safety Culture
  • Deliver QSHE training sessions and safety campaigns.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among vessel and shore teams.
Audit & Inspection Coordination
  • Support internal audit planning and execution.
  • Liaise with departments to ensure timely closure of audit observations.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain records of incidents and audit reports.
  • Assist in vessel certification and vetting preparation.
Customer and Regulatory Awareness
  • Promote understanding of client requirements and expectations.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and communicate implications.
