About the Position:

The Project Manager will oversee land acquisition activities for Wind projects, reporting directly to the Head of Project Development. This role is crucial in creating a land pool for under-construction Wind projects and building a pipeline for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project development activities and collaborate with departments for land acquisition and related tasks for Wind projects.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for Wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and approvals.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation plans for land acquisition.
  • Lead legal due diligence and documentation with internal/external lawyers to ensure clear marketable title of potential lands before acquisition.
  • Drafting, finalization, and execution of Sale/Lease Deeds and agreements.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance teams for seamless land acquisition.
  • Effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Handling interactions with local agencies and stakeholders for smooth acquisition and usage of lands for Wind energy projects until commissioning.
  • Managing administrative tasks for land acquisition and usage across pan-India locations.
  • Developing project plans and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders for successful implementation.
  • Obtaining approvals like AAI (Airport Authority of India) NOC, Ministry of Defence (MoD) NOC, and relevant approvals.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land, exploring site acquisitions, preparing valuation reports, and negotiating land acquisition.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in Land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or Solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team member, cross-functional team, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements for renewable energy projects and land acquisition.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Organizational and project management skills for executing land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities.
  • Results-oriented approach with proactive self-motivation.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability principles.
