Software Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of software systems.

The successful candidate will have experience with designing and developing complex online and batch mainframe applications using COBOL as the programming language, CICS as the transaction processing monitor, and DB2 as the relational database management system. Additionally, knowledge of MQ and DB2 Connect as interfaces to communicate with distributed web applications is required.

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the design and development of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex online and batch mainframe applications using COBOL and other languages
  • Work with infrastructure teams to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments
  • Tune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues
  • Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with company technology standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
