Investment Risk Specialist

 

Job Description:

The Investment Risk Specialist plays a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating market, credit, operational, liquidity, and regulatory risks. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience with risk models, and excellent communication abilities to convey complex risk information effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Analyze potential risks, evaluate investment portfolios, and assess exposure to various risk factors.
  • Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation strategies, support the implementation of risk limits in systems, and collaborate with the investment team to incorporate risk considerations into portfolio decisions.
  • Change Management: Contribute to reviewing new products, processes, and activities, ensuring they align with risk management policies.
  • Investment Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all risk management activities adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Prepare detailed risk reports, develop risk models, and continuously monitor market conditions and risk exposures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications are desirable).
  • 7-10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within an investment management or financial services organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in risk management software, and excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Wealth Management, Mutual Funds, PMS, or Alternate Investments.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Sound knowledge of key regulations and understanding of investment markets and ex-ante portfolio risk management techniques.
