Leading BIM and Digital Construction

We are seeking a senior leader to spearhead our digital construction initiatives. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans for building information modeling (BIM) and virtual design and construction (VDC) across projects.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the coordination of BIM meetings, clash detection, and resolution processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all BIM/VDC-related matters across internal and external stakeholders.
- Explore and implement new technology solutions to enhance project delivery.

Project Integration

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VDC workflows.
- Oversee the implementation of 3D, 4D, and 5D modeling in design, scheduling, and costing.

Process & Standards

- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for BIM and VDC.
- Establish and manage common data environments (CDEs) using Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms.

Team Development

- Lead and mentor BIM coordinators/modelers.
- Conduct training sessions on VDC tools and processes to upskill teams.

Technology Management

- Evaluate and implement various VDC tools, including Revit, Navisworks, and Dynamo.
- Support the integration of emerging technologies like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), laser scanning, drones, and digital twins.

Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of model audit reports, clash reports, and model health check logs.
- Prepare regular progress dashboards for management and client reporting.

Field Integration & Issue Resolution

- Liaise between field crews and digital teams to resolve onsite installation conflicts.
- Convert BIM designs into fabrication models, spool drawings, and field installation documents.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in the AEC industry with strong BIM/VDC project delivery exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and coordination tools.
- Working knowledge of scheduling (Primavera/MSP) and cost integration tools is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices for BIM and VDC.
- Excellent communication, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
