Design Engineer Role Overview:

This is a full-time on-site Design Engineer position located at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks related to design engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), electrical engineering, and product design.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare general layout (GA) drawings for process equipment.
  • Create Bills of Material (BOMs) for procurement and fabrication.
  • Revise drawings based on manufacturing and customer feedback.
  • Create 2D and 3D models of process equipment using CAD tools.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers and manufacturing personnel.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with software such as Auto-CAD and Solid Edge.
  • Arrangement (GA) drawing and the ability to create detailed fabrication drawings are essential.
  • Prepare detailed material take-offs on projects based on drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of drawing presentation, critical dimensioning, view presentations, and parts list preparation.
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes like laser cutting, bending, welding, basic machining.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of advanced assemblies and layouts with GD&T, surface finishes, welding details, and engineering notes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP system (an asset).
  • Experience in making GA layouts is an advantage.
  • At least 1+ years of hands-on experience in Solid Edge.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to existing systems.
