Job Overview:

The Database Administrator is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of databases. This involves monitoring database operations, optimizing SQL queries, and implementing data loading scripts. The candidate will work closely with data architects, analysts, and database owners to support short-term work requests and long-term strategy implementation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Sustaining ongoing efforts and providing technical support for multiple database re-platforming initiatives to Exadata.
  • Reviewing and implementing data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimizing and tuning SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Strong programming skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers).
  • Proficient in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  • Expertise in database architecture and partitioning.
  • Managing database objects like table space, users, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.
  • Monitoring database performance as it relates to memory usage, backups, active sessions, and long-running queries.
  • Coordinating with data architects and analysts on schema development, function creation, view optimization, and role assignment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including Oracle Exadata expertise.
  • Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and agile methodology.
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Collaborative Team Player.
