Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in database administration, replication, troubleshooting, and database security.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • - Database Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • - Database Security: Implement and maintain robust database security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • - Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, tuning SQL queries, and configuring database parameters.
  • - Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and system failures.
  • - Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, ensuring business continuity and minimizing data loss.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a strong foundation in database concepts and administration.
  • Oracle DBA Experience: Freshers or experienced candidates with basic knowledge of Oracle database administration can apply.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • - Familiarity with Oracle database architecture: Understanding of Oracle database architecture, including datafiles, control files, redo logs, and undo management.
  • - Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
  • - Technical Skills:
  • - Oracle Database: Experience with Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • - SQL and PL/SQL: Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, with the ability to write efficient and effective database code.
  • - Oracle Enterprise Manager: Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (EM), including configuration, management, and monitoring of database environments.
