Head HSE Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive HSE strategy that aligns with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining adherence to all applicable Acts, regulations, standards, and permits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implementing control measures.
  • Investigating and analyzing incidents to determine root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.
  • Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, conducting regular drills, and ensuring the organization is prepared to handle emergencies effectively.
  • Delivering HSE training programs to employees at all levels, including business partner employees, to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely.
  • Tracking and reporting on key HSE performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance through initiatives such as audits, inspections, and benchmarking.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong communication channels and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HSE management, preferably in a metal and mining industry.
  • Approved Safety officer certification as per Odisha Factory Act.
  • Strong knowledge of Factory Act, Environmental guidelines, HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience in greenfield/brownfield expansion projects.
  • Experience in environmental compliance and permitting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
