Senior Fundraising Strategist

Drive resource mobilization initiatives, conceptualizing and executing strategic partnerships with institutional donors.

This leadership role reports to the Chief Resource Officer and matrixed to the Head – Empowering Grassroots.

A strong background in business development and fundraising is essential, with at least 10-15 years of experience securing funding from institutional donors.

Prior experience of submitting proposals to USAID, European Union, Co-Impact, ADB, or SIDA would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with potential funders, including international funders and primary recipients of multilateral organizations.
  • Fundraising Strategies: Identify and track funding prospects using appropriate tracking tools.
  • Proposal Development: Oversee the development of concept notes and proposals in coordination with program teams.
  • Grant Management: Ensure donor due diligence, ongoing engagement, and submission of high-quality reports.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business Development/Management
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in fundraising with Institutional Donors
  • Prior experience of submitting proposals to USAID, European Union, Co-Impact, ADB, or SIDA would be an advantage
  • Established industry connections with institutional donors, corporate foundations, family foundations, and other new and innovative sources of funding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
