Manufacturing Technology Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technology Engineer to lead the design, configuration and deployment of SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

Our ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cloud computing, data analytics, enterprise application integration, infrastructure management, and application development.

  • Design and implement real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions using Ignition SCADA and MES applications.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA, MES) with enterprise IT systems, ERP databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Develop and maintain secure efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, time-series databases for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and predictive analytics.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards: ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms: Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation/Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Certifications: Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications.
