Transforming manufacturing processes is a key responsibility of the Manufacturing Engineer role. This position contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the equipment and systems in the production environment.

The successful candidate will ensure the efficient execution of manufacturing projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve safety, efficiency, and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities include developing manufacturing processes for the Cylinder Head/ConRod manufacturing line, participating in equipment finalization, specification finalization, trials, and commissioning at the plant, improving layout and material flow for operational efficiency, supporting capital expenditures and cash flow management in a timely manner, monitoring project progress, highlighting risks, and developing corrective actions, conducting team meetings and communicating effectively with site operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, and supplier teams, maintaining project tracking and documentation to complete all New Business Startup (NBS) project steps, mapping supplier capacity, and developing end-to-end Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for the new line, supporting the new line with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Cummins Manufacturing System (CMS), and Industry 4.0 requirements, assisting with the development and implementation of manufacturing standards and working methods using continuous improvement tools, and working with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the new line with IIoT, CMS, and Industry 4.0 requirements
  • Assists with the development and implementation of manufacturing standards
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
