Job Description

Mission:

This position supports the Accounting department in producing accurate and timely financial statements by preparing and recording detailed AP, AR, and other general accounting transactions.

Authority:

The incumbent reports to the Accounting Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End & Year-End Processes: Review and account for AP & corporate expense reports, perform monthly bank reconciliations, assist with tax filings, and execute month close activities such as accruals, prepays, deferrals, etc.
  • Accounts Payable Processing: Review and approve POs and invoices in Nexonia, process weekly check runs for vendor payments, initiate wire requests, and maintain W-9/W-8 information for vendors.
  • Audit Assistance: Prepare AP and other Accounting documents requested for audit, collaborate directly with auditors for any questions, and perform walkthroughs of Accounting tasks as requested.
  • Fixed Assets: Ensure the accuracy of Fixed Assets additions and retirements, maintain the Fixed Assets Module, verify that all assets are depreciated monthly, and confirm the accuracy of monthly depreciation journal entries.
  • Government & Business Filings: Ensure government filings and business renewals are completed on time, maintain a Business Filings document, and collaborate with tax consultants.
  • Miscellaneous: Assist management with special projects as necessary, interact with various departments for information required from the Accounting department, and provide support to the Accounting/Finance department with ad-hoc tasks and/or projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Intermediate to Advanced Excel Knowledge:

Ability to effectively utilize Excel features.

Advanced Accounting Platforms:

Knowledge of NetSuite and similar cloud-based systems.

Excellent Communication Skills:

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Pressure Management:

Ability to work under pressure with changing deadlines and responsibilities.

Detail-Oriented and Flexible:

Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Highly organized, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

3 to 5 years of Accounting experience.

Specialized Knowledge:

Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial audits.
