Job Description:

A senior-level Storage Specialist is required to oversee the administration and maintenance of SAN and storage environments. This involves collaborating with support teams, participating in problem-solving and troubleshooting, and ensuring the smooth operation of storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities include tracking storage usage trends, maintaining systems-level maintenance for storage infrastructure, and providing configuration and administration of Storage Area Networks.

  • Manage day-to-day operations for SAN and storage environments, including collaboration with customer support teams and participation in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Track existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth, maintain systems level maintenance for storage infrastructure, and provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration.
  • Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity, perform capacity analysis, analyze performance data and trends.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years experience handling majority of activities mentioned in scope above.
  • Experience handling Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure.
  • Exposure to Operations and Management activities on Hitachi Storage(s), Unified compute platforms, various Host O/S including basic cluster management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hitachi Technical certification desirable.
Skills and Technologies:
  • Hitachi Mid-Range and Enterprise storages operations support.
  • Storage pool creation, expansion, deletion.
  • Zoning via CISCO SAN Switches (CLI and GUI).
  • Storage replication technologies (GAD, HUR, True Copy, Local Replication).
  • Monitoring tools (OPS Center Analyser, Hi-Track).
  • Troubleshooting skills (performance issues at storage level, IO Errors).
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage shifts single handed.

This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can work independently and as part of a team. Strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential.
