
Parametric Insurance Growth Manager

Job Opportunity:
Business Development LeadWe are seeking a motivated Business Development Lead to drive growth in our Parametric Insurance vertical. This role is ideal for a candidate with a proven track record in building sales from the ground up, strong industry relationships, and deep knowledge of parametric risk solutions.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the Parametric Insurance vertical.
- Build Sales Function: Establish and lead a high-performing sales team, responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and closing deals.
- Identify New Opportunities: Identify and convert new business opportunities, customer segments, and revenue streams.
- Develop Sales Pipeline: Create and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent deal closures and revenue growth.
- Forge Partnerships: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with insurers, reinsurance firms, agri-input companies, NBFCs, cooperatives, and government agencies.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product, actuarial, tech, and operations teams to deliver custom parametric insurance solutions.
- Monitor Market Trends: Stay up-to-date on market trends, weather and climate risk data, government policy shifts, and competitor offerings.
- Represent Company: Represent at industry forums, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Mentor Sales Team: Build and mentor a lean sales team to scale operations.
- Deliver Performance Reports: Provide regular performance reports, revenue forecasts, and business insights to senior leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Agriculture, Climate Science, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in business development, preferably in parametric or climate-risk insurance, reinsurance, or rural financial services.
- Setup and Scale Sales Function: Demonstrated experience in setting up and scaling a sales function from 0 to 100.
- In-Depth Knowledge: In-depth understanding of parametric insurance products, climate data, and risk triggers.
- Negotiation and Communication: Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Entrepreneurial mindset with strong execution skills and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively, especially to risk-prone or underserved regions.
