This role focuses on advancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems. The successful candidate will lead efforts to establish and implement SRE practices, oversee a team of engineers, and drive automation, monitoring, and incident response strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain high availability and reliability of critical services.
  2. Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure business requirements are met.
  3. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system inefficiencies proactively.
Incident Management & Response
  1. Establish and improve incident management processes and on-call rotations.
  2. Lead incident response and root cause analysis for high-priority outages.
  3. Drive post-incident reviews and implement actionable insights.
Automation & Tooling
  1. Develop automated solutions to reduce manual operational tasks.
  2. Enhance system observability through metrics, logging, and distributed tracing tools.
  3. Optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
Collaboration
  1. Partner with software engineering teams to improve application and infrastructure reliability.
  2. Work closely with product/engineering teams to design scalable and robust systems.
  3. Ensure integration of monitoring and alerting systems across teams.
Leadership & Team Building
  1. Manage, mentor, and grow a team of SREs.
  2. Promote SRE best practices and foster a culture of reliability and performance.
  3. Drive performance reviews, skills development, and career progression.
Capacity Planning & Cost Optimization
  1. Perform capacity planning and implement autoscaling solutions.
  2. Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining reliability and performance.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform/Helm/Ansible.
  • Proficiency in Java.
  • Expertise in distributed systems, databases, and load balancing.
  • Monitoring & Observability:
  • Proficient with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic APM, or new relic.
  • Understanding of metrics-driven approaches.
  • Automation & CI/CD:
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Skilled in automation frameworks and tools.
  • Incident Management:
  • Proven track record in handling incidents and implementing solutions.

Leadership & Communication Skills:

  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Clear and concise communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with database optimization, Kafka, or other messaging systems.
  • Knowledge of autoscaling techniques.
  • Previous experience in an SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering leadership role.
