The Placement Head role at a leading university plays a pivotal part in connecting students with employment opportunities and supporting their career development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive placement strategy aligned with the university's academic programs and the evolving job market.
  • Student Engagement: Provide career counseling, coaching, and guidance to students to help them define their career goals, prepare for interviews, and build job-seeking skills.
  • Employer Relations: Establish and maintain partnerships with employers, companies, and organizations to facilitate job placements and internships for students.
  • Job Matching: Facilitate the matching of students with suitable job opportunities and internships based on their skills, qualifications, and career aspirations.
  • Internship Programs: Collaborate with academic departments to develop internship programs that offer students practical experience and exposure to real-world job environments.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze labor market trends, job placement statistics, and alumni career outcomes to inform decision-making and improve placement rates.
  • Resume Workshops: Organize workshops and events to assist students in creating effective resumes, cover letters, and portfolios.
  • Job Fairs and Recruitment Events: Plan and execute job fairs, career expos, and on-campus recruitment events bringing together students and potential employers.
  • Career Workshops: Organize workshops, seminars, and webinars on career development topics such as networking, interview skills, and professional etiquette.
  • Alumni Engagement: Engage university alumni to support current students in their job search and career development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A Master's Degree in a related field such as career counseling, human resources, or higher education administration.
  • A proven track record of achievements in the placement sector.
  • Proven experience in career counseling, job placement, or related fields with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and labor market dynamics.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with career development software and job search platforms.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and employers.
