Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Product Lead to join our Enterprise Data Platforms team at American Express. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences through robust enterprise-wide data policies and governance.

Job Summary

The Data Product Lead will be responsible for translating product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams. This role requires strong communication, product, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in Agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams.
  • Assess value, develop use cases, and prioritize features and user stories to ensure that work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with the product strategy.
  • Partner with design and technology teams to develop, evaluate, deliver the defined capabilities, and rapidly iterate innovative solutions.
  • Manage program blocking issues, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical or operational constraints.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information security, Mathematics, Statistics, MBA, or any other relevant qualification.
  • 2-4 years of demonstrated excellence in delivering business solutions across a variety of platforms and technologies such as GCP, Big Data, Pyspark, Hive, Scala, Python.
  • Knowledge about databases, SQL, data movement, APIs, developing user interfaces & BI reporting is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework, an Agile mindset, and ability to adapt easily to change.
  • Product development experience is preferred.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 per year, based on national averages and industry standards.
