Job Title:

Operational Excellence Leader

About the Role:

  • Contribute to developing and implementing best practice maintenance strategies to enhance operational performance.
  • Lead new business initiatives and projects, reviewing their impact on Maintenance activities and communicating effectively with the team.
  • Delegate maintenance issues to be resolved by the right skills in the team, planning effective works and managing resources efficiently.
  • Adhere to daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth operation of the site and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out, and plan in missed maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Lead the team to deliver effective maintenance services, ensuring compliance with engineering data systems and regulations.
  • Schedule internal and external work(s) to maximize planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime, ensuring machine availability and reactivity to dysfunctional machinery.
  • Optimize equipment according to standard procedures, enhancing performance and product quality while achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
  • Ensure designated buildings, plant, and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when required.
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend and implement a strategy to manage expenditure effectively.
  • Manage systems and equipment data storage, maintaining high levels of standards and accuracy, and produce written reports and make presentations as required.
  • Undertake continuous training and development to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems efficiently, identifying and deploying technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver projects.
  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting on key metrics.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, delivers best practice results, adds value, and drives continuous improvements.
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports, working collaboratively with stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the maintenance strategy.

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related field.

Behavioural Profile:

  • Exhibit leadership capability and good interpersonal skills.
  • Time Management and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Flexibility and team work are critical in this role.
  • Technical expertise in electrical or related fields is desirable.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
