We are partnering with a global leader in pharmaceuticals to identify an IP Strategist.

This position will be responsible for leading a team of 5-8 professionals and reporting to the Head of Intellectual Property.

The IP Strategist will work on various Intellectual Property matters, including product clearance, patent filing and prosecution, patent litigation, licensing, due diligence, trademark clearance, and registration in the EU, US, and APAC regions.

The incumbent will lead a team in a dynamic environment, deliver results, and grow along with the fast-paced work environment. This position will closely collaborate with Portfolio, R&D scientists, and Regulatory Affairs teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the growing intellectual property portfolio of the organization
  • Enforce intellectual property processes to ensure optimal and timely protection of intellectual property and third-party partner interests
  • Work closely with the Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to:
  • Identify products to be introduced into the development grid
  • Devise and manage the most effective product development strategy for the portfolio
  • Identify patentable inventions and provide guidance on patentability
  • Draft patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual property
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications
  • Provide intellectual property-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations
  • Partner with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities
  • Manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues
  • Maintain appropriate record architecture and content of the organization's inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property
  • Educate management and scientists on current best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property
  • Lead, empower, and coach a team of intellectual property professionals
