Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to lead our Product Design department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial design, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to oversee academic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for Product Design programs that align with the university's mission and vision.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the institution to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with the career advancement team.
  • Plan and manage departmental resources effectively for discussion and approvals.
  • Invite industry experts for various academic engagements like master classes, conferences/symposiums, and design festivals.
  • Stay up-to-date with UGC, NAAC, and other processes and documentation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Industrial Design.
  • Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of Industrial Design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
