Job Summary

This role requires a skilled IT professional to oversee database and server operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MySQL administration, Linux management, and backup recovery processes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on MySQL databases, including installation, configuration, upgrades, replication setup, monitoring, user management, and performance optimization.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues such as metadata locks, slow queries, replication lag, and optimize performance to ensure seamless database operations.
  • Manage Linux servers, overseeing user management, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, system resource checks, and maintain optimal server performance.
  • Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup to guarantee business continuity.
  • Perform routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments to safeguard against potential threats.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve level 2 support tickets, escalating complex issues to level 3 with proper root cause analysis inputs.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation to facilitate efficient issue resolution.
