Job Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to lead the administration, optimization, and security of our Oracle database landscape, including mission-critical systems supporting enterprise applications.

This is a senior-level position that requires strong technical expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN, as well as hands-on experience with SAP-Oracle integration or collaboration with SAP Basis teams.

  • Lead the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of multiple Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, 21c) in production, development, and QA environments.
  • Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations (including platform and cross-version migrations).
  • Optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and advanced tuning techniques.
  • Manage high availability and disaster recovery configurations using Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Implement and test robust backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and/or third-party tools.
  • Automate administrative tasks and reporting using shell scripting, PL/SQL, or Python.
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis team to support SAP systems using Oracle, including performance tuning and backup coordination.
  • Ensure database compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, and cloud database strategy.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Oracle database technologies, high availability architecture, and hands-on experience with SAP-Oracle integration or collaboration with SAP Basis teams.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in large-scale, enterprise-grade environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience in both on-prem and cloud-based Oracle DB setups.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • SAP environment experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems using Oracle (ECC, BW, PI, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of how Oracle integrates with SAP NetWeaver architecture
  • Ability to support SAP Basis teams in database-related operations.
  • Experience supporting SAP upgrades and migrations involving Oracle.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
