Deputy General Manager (Finance)

The role of Deputy General Manager (Finance) is a critical position within our organization, requiring strong leadership and technical accounting expertise. The successful candidate will oversee the financial health of the company, ensuring robust compliance, accurate reporting, and effective financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Ensure IND AS compliance through preparation and review of financial statements, develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts aligned with business objectives, and manage cash flow efficiently.
  • Statutory Compliance: Oversee book closure and preparation of statutory financial statements, maintain up-to-date knowledge of income tax and GST provisions, and ensure timely filing of returns.
  • Audit Management: Act as the primary contact for statutory auditors, independently managing audit requirements, and ensure timely closure of statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit, and any other audit as required.
  • Investor Relations: Lead processes related to inviting investments from investors and SOPs where required, and prepare and submit Group MIS reports.
  • Staff Development: Keep staff updated on recent changes in tax laws and compliances through structured communication.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with senior management on strategic financial decisions and support tax compliance, including return filings and adherence to applicable provisions.
  • Operational Efficiency: Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, continuously refine the chart of accounts, establish accounting policies, and improve procedures as the company scales.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5–8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and accounting software; exposure to SAP is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, investment processes, and statutory compliance.
  • Prior experience in the music, media, or entertainment industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate at all levels.
  • Passion for music and the business side of the industry.
