Senior Formulation Chemist - Pet Nutraceuticals

We are seeking an experienced chemist to join our team and play a key role in the development of new pet health supplements. As a senior formulation chemist, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing formulations for dogs and cats syrups, tonics, and nutraceutical supplements.

You will work closely with our founder to oversee the entire production process, from batch preparation to quality control. Your expertise in veterinary or animal health formulations will be essential in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a new dog and cat nutraceutical brand from the ground up. You will be responsible for selecting suitable excipients, preservatives, flavors, and stabilizers that are safe for animals, as well as conducting basic QC tests (pH, clarity, taste/palatability, viscosity, appearance) specific to dogs and cats supplements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong knowledge of veterinary nutraceutical ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbal extracts safe for dogs and cats. You will also need to have practical experience with syrup/tonic production processes (mixing → filtration → filling) for animal products.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Pharm / M.Pharm (preferred) or M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Food Technology / Veterinary Science / Nutraceuticals degree, as well as 2–5 years of experience in pet health supplements / veterinary nutraceuticals / animal syrups or tonic manufacturing.

In addition to your technical skills and qualifications, you will need to have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and teach/mentor others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize formulations for dogs and cats syrups, tonics, and nutraceutical supplements.
  • Select suitable excipients, preservatives, flavors, and stabilizers that are safe for animals.
  • Conduct basic QC tests (pH, clarity, taste/palatability, viscosity, appearance) specific to dogs and cats supplements.
  • Maintain stability samples and quality records.
  • Approve/reject incoming raw materials (vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts for pets).

Requirements:

  • B.Pharm / M.Pharm (preferred) OR M.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Food Technology / Veterinary Science / Nutraceuticals.
  • 2–5 years of experience in pet health supplements / veterinary nutraceuticals / animal syrups or tonic manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary nutraceutical ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbal extracts safe for dogs and cats.
  • Practical experience with syrup/tonic production processes (mixing → filtration → filling) for animal products.
