PostgreSQL Performance Expert

We're seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Performance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our database support team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support and guidance on all aspects of PostgreSQL performance.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, query optimization, and performance tuning. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Optimize PostgreSQL queries for improved performance
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex database issues
  • Design and implement high-availability solutions using replication and clustering techniques
  • Develop and maintain scripts for automated testing and deployment
  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration with other systems

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience administering PostgreSQL in production environments
  • Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL query planning, execution, and optimization
  • Expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
