Power BI Administrator Role Summary">

This is a key leadership position for a Power BI Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle administration of Power BI services, including patches, updates, AD security, account management, capacity management, and documenting processes.

They will implement and monitor Gateway VM and Service principal creation, configure data gateways for access to multiple data sources, automate and manage environments, configurations, integrations, deployments, and documentation using Power BI rest API.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Power BI Environment administration and admin portals, experience with Microsoft 365 user license management, and proficiency in creating PowerShell scripts.

Additional responsibilities include setting up alerts and monitoring patterns for Power BI Premium environments, troubleshooting network, firewall, and Active Directory issues, and being available for on-call support on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full lifecycle administration of Power BI services, including patches, updates, AD security, account management, capacity management, and documenting processes.
  • Implementing and monitoring Gateway VM and Service principal creation.
  • Configuring data gateways for access to multiple data sources.
  • Automating and managing environments, configurations, integrations, deployments, and documentation using Power BI rest API.
  • Ensuring high availability, reliability, and high levels of customer service.
  • Managing Data Loss Prevention policies at the tenant and environment levels.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Information Management.
  • 3 years of professional experience in Power BI Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI Environment administration and admin portals.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 user license management.
  • Proficiency in creating PowerShell scripts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or significant progress toward completing one or more of the following Microsoft certification exams: DA-100, 70-778, DP-500, AZ-104, MS-500.
