Strategic Portfolio Management Trainer Role

This is a highly specialized position that requires a deep understanding of strategic portfolio management and project portfolio management principles, tools, and practices.

As a Strategic Portfolio Management Trainer, you will be responsible for developing, mentoring, and training fresh graduates in portfolio and project management principles, tools, and practices.

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of portfolio governance, prioritization frameworks, resource management, and execution alignment, along with a passion for knowledge transfer and capability building.

  • Design and deliver training programs on strategic portfolio management and project portfolio management for graduate trainees.
  • Mentor and coach new entrants on portfolio planning, governance, project prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Introduce industry frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (PMI, SAFe, Agile, ITIL) in portfolio management.
  • Demonstrate use of PPM tools (Planisware, Clarity, MS Project, Primavera, or similar) for planning and tracking.
  • Guide trainees in developing business cases, evaluating ROI, and aligning projects with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct workshops on risk assessment, dependency mapping, and performance measurement.
  • Review project charters, roadmaps, and portfolio dashboards prepared by trainees, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR to shape graduate development programs and career pathways.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to build portfolio management maturity within the organization.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience in strategic portfolio management and project portfolio management.
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio governance, prioritization frameworks, resource management, and execution alignment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs, mentoring and coaching new entrants.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (PMI, SAFe, Agile, ITIL).
  • Ability to demonstrate use of PPM tools (Planisware, Clarity, MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
