Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mechanical design expert to join our team in Hyderabad, India. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying complex mechanical systems, including centrifugal chillers and shell-and-tube heat exchangers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and specification of centrifugal chillers, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, and associated piping systems in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Perform load calculations, refrigerant flow modeling, and chiller system simulations using specialized tools such as TRACE 700/3D Plus, HAP, or EnergyPlus.
  • Develop detailed technical documentation, including P&IDs, piping layouts, equipment data sheets, valve and control schematics, and other relevant documents.
  • Evaluate designs against Tier III/IV data center standards to ensure compliance by designing redundant systems (N+1, 2N).
  • Collaborate with structural and electrical engineers to ensure that pipe supports, anchors, and expansion joints meet guidelines and regulations.
  • Integrate chiller plant design with building management systems (BMS) and energy efficiency control logic.
  • Oversee vendor reviews, bid evaluations, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
  • Provide technical leadership during commissioning and retro-commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Thermal Systems Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC design, with at least 5 years specializing in centrifugal chiller systems.
  • ASME experience is highly desirable.
