Treasury Manager Job Description

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Treasury Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's cash flow, optimizing liquidity, and ensuring prudent investment of surplus funds.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A background in corporate finance or accounting is essential, with experience in treasury management preferred.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily fund movements and cash positioning to ensure optimal liquidity and minimize risk.
  • Liaise with banks and other financial institutions to process transactions efficiently and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate and process international vendor payments, taking into account foreign exchange rates and currency risks.
  • Monitor bank charges and negotiate cost-effective banking solutions to reduce costs.
Import Payments & Foreign Exchange Management
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate foreign exchange risks and optimize import payments.
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable payment terms and reduce transaction costs.
Currency Hedging
  • Monitor and analyze foreign currency exposures to identify opportunities for hedging and risk reduction.
  • Collaborate with banks and financial advisors to develop and implement effective hedging strategies.
Liquid Investments & Fund Management
  • Analyze and manage surplus liquidity to optimize returns and minimize risk.
  • Maintain detailed records of investments and monitor their performance to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Debt Market & Loan Management
  • Monitor and manage short-term and long-term debt obligations to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with banks and financial institutions to renegotiate loan terms and reduce interest costs.
Treasury Planning & MIS
  • Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Design and implement effective MIS systems to track key performance indicators and provide timely insights to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: CA / MBA (Finance) / B.Com with specialization in Treasury or Finance.
  • Experience: 3-8 years in corporate treasury, preferably in manufacturing, IT, or trading.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, forex, and capital markets.
