Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Vacuum Furnace Technical Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of innovative solutions for vacuum furnaces and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will advocate technical solutions and execution methods in response to sales offers and customer specifications.
  • You will involve in sizing and costing of technical offers with the sales manager, and pre-approve them.
  • You will monitor all projects on a weekly basis and ensure proper technical support is provided to assembly/service support teams and customers.
  • You will provide engineering management and technical analysis of projects, including design, calculation, component specification, cost estimation, and technical service.
  • You will participate in a multi-disciplinary team to make conceptual design and development for implementing innovative/upgraded solutions.
  • You will interface with coworkers and customers as part of the design, development, implementation activities, and delivery cycle associated with equipment build.
  • You will provide analytical problem-solving support to assembly factory/assembly lines and challenges associated with equipment fabrication/assembly/quality/tests, and installation & commissioning and technical service activities.
  • You will compile the complete technical/design and administrative dossier/docs for all customer accounts.
  • You will review engineering and design for future planning in line with company strategy plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Design.
  • Design and analysis of mechanical/electrical structures/low/high/ultra-high vacuum systems.
  • High Pressure Vessel design/construction.
  • High Temperature Hot Zone design/construction.
  • Heating Elements/Heat-Shield or Insulation design and construction.
  • Heat Exchanger design/construction.
  • Hot-zone support structure/Hearth bar design/construction.
  • Knowledge about Heat treatment, brazing, carburizing, hardening, annealing, melting, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of various type of materials, surface and thermal treatments for low/high/ultra-high vacuum.
  • Hands on aptitude with an understanding of standard design practices and manufacturing techniques.
  • Advanced skills in 2D & 3D CAD software - preferably AutoCAD and Inventor or Solid Works.
  • 3D design for vacuum chambers and systems.
  • Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics.
  • Thermal exchange calculation / Computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Finite Element Method (FEM) and Thermo-mechanical simulations analysis.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum process systems, electrical components, and automation.
