Job Description

As a Dimensional Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications for Body in White components and exterior trims. Your responsibilities will include analyzing functional requirements, creating measurement strategies, discussing tolerance concepts with stakeholders, and performing tolerance stack up studies to identify potential risks in production.

  • Develop and implement measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications that meet styling and manufacturing requirements.
  • Analyze the functional requirements of Body in White components and create measurement strategies to ensure accurate fitment of modules.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align tolerance concepts and ensure they meet manufacturing needs.
  • Conduct tolerance stack up studies to identify potential risks in production and develop solutions to mitigate them.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of 3D tolerance simulation tools, preferably 3DCS.
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with perceived quality and its impact on product design.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes in Body in White.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably NX.
